Day 79 of 365 - Pine Street Cemetery

Pine Street Cemetery was established in 1791. One year after the founding of Gallipolis. Many of the French 500 are buried here. Since it is Halloween weekend I had to photograph a cemetery.

I am also including a second photograph of a head stone from 1827. I found the headstone interesting and upon further investigation I found it to be from 1827 for a 7 year old boy.

Day 70 of 365 - Manual Mode

Even with all the fancy settings and program modes on my camera, I photograph in manual mode. This gives me complete creative control over my photograph. The camera is not choosing for me. This is my grandfather's Voightlander range finder. I have photographed this camera before. I love going out, loading film and photographing with it. I love its form and simple beauty.

A little light painting of a telephone pole behind the station. I have a another idea for a light painting photograph, but I wanted to practice a little bit first. Day 54 of 365 - Books

I love to read and I enjoy a good fantasy. I really enjoy Dave Barry and Ridley Pearsons Peter Pan books. I am a huge Peter Pan fan, but not Disney's Peter Pan. That is why I really enjoy these books. The pirates are ruthless, the natives are restless and they provide a great story about how Peter Pan originated. If you have never read them I suggest you give them a try starting with Peter and the Starcatchers.

By the way this was shot with the Lensbaby Composer.
