Textures are all around us and we take them for granted. We run our hands across them everyday, whether they are rough or smooth. They also have visual appeal whether it is a fabric, wood or even brick.

I got a new softbox Friday and wanted to try it out but have been busy all weekend. So tonight I set it up and grabbed the only subject not in bed, Duke.

After a long day of heavy spring rains, this morning the weather began to break and clear out. As dawn broke the deep blues and darkness of the breaking clouds were amazing.

I saw this doorway on an old building in Huntington today. The building looks as thought it has seen many changes in lifetime. This doorway allowed no way in or out of this building.

Sam is my partner for the day and needless to say he rides his Harley year round. The badges on his Harley caught my eye and I had to photograph one.

What is more fun than food textures. Tonight is Doritos. The orange, get all over your fingers texture of these chips are irresistible. So now that I have captured them, it is time to eat them.

Oreo's and Milk, there is nothing better. Went to the store today and the boys wanted some Oreo's. Needless to say they are almost gone and I have only had two.

Day 191 of 365 - Batteries

I have quite a collection of rechargeable AA batteries for my small flashes. I have 3 flashes and 3 sets of batteries for each flash. A constant rotation of moving these through the charger and flashes.

Nothing like farm fresh eggs. They taste better and last longer. Looking forward to some eggs for breakfast in the morning.

With a 70 degree day behind us it is time to start thinking about the garden. Checking what seeds I have left over from last. With a seed catalog in hand I have an idea of what seeds I need to order.

Last week I finally stepped into the 20th century with a new cell phone. I wanted a phone I could text from and decided on the Neon II. I also got my lovely wife one. Who knows, maybe I'll get HDTV.

My pampas grass is ready to be cut back so it can regrow this spring. With 60's in the forecast shoots and buds should start appearing soon.

Sitting around this evening with the love of my life. I got the Scrabble board out for my picture and together we put together some words to describe our love for each other.

Day 185 of 365 - The Final Push

With 3 weeks of my critical care transport class left , I am in the final push to finish up clinicals and studying. The class has been very intense and I have learned many new things to help me treat my patients.

Day 184 of 365 - Jelly

Every summer I go out and pick wild blackberries. Usually around the 4th of July I pick for about 2 weeks. Most of the berries get processed into home made blackberry jelly. There is nothing like blackberry jelly on warm toast.

Halfway. I just crossed the halfway point in this project. 6 months down, 6 to go. I am very proud of the project so far. Some days I struggle to find the perfect shot and others I find it very easy. So here is to 6 months more of a photo a day.

Homemade hard candy in a mason jar. This jar has been sitting around the station for few weeks now. the colors of the candy are very attractive along with the taste.

Day 180 of 365 - Afternoon Clouds

You may have noticed Day 179 is missing. Yesterday was very busy at work and before I knew it midnight had rolled by. So yesterday was the first day I missed a photo since beginning.

This afternoon the sky was clearing. A light coating of snow was still on the ground from this morning. I have seen several robins around so hopefully spring is very close.

Meghan came over this afternoon to work with me on her wedding invitations. We were trying to come up with something for a panel of her invitation when I thought about a photo of her engagement ring. So after a quick shot we had the put together the perfect custom invitation for her upcoming wedding.

I took Isaac my youngest son to Monster Jam tonight. He loves cars and trucks, especially monster trucks. He had a great time.

I made an apple pie tonight for Steph to take to work. When I got it out of the oven I could not resist. So when it gets to work tomorrow something will be missing!
